On November 18, 2024, at approximately 9:25 p.m., 36-year-old Cameron J. Fox was fatally shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Lakecrest Avenue in High Point, North Carolina. Officers from the High Point Police Department responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon and found Fox deceased at the scene.
The incident occurred after an argument between Fox and 38-year-old Robert O. Bailey, a resident of High Point.
Bailey was arrested at the scene and charged with second-degree murder. He is currently being held without bond at the Guilford County Jail in High Point.
Fox, a resident of Winston-Salem, was a father, newlywed husband, son, brother, and friend to many. He was a self-made barber who had recently married Samantha K. Fox. The couple was expecting their first child in June 2025 but tragically lost the baby. They were working as DoorDash delivery drivers to support themselves when the fatal incident occurred.
Samantha Fox described her husband as a generous and caring individual who would "give you the shirt off his back." She recounted the tragic events of that night, expressing her disbelief and devastation over the loss.
