On a Sunday evening in the Bronx, 26-year-old Tyreek Terrell Shawn Moore was with a friend near an apartment building in the Castle Hill neighborhood. It was just before six o'clock on December 15, 2024, when their path was crossed by a group of four individuals. Three men, all cloaked in black, and a woman in gray, confronted Moore and his 24-year-old companion with a clear and violent intent: robbery. The situation escalated rapidly when one of the assailants produced a gun.

In the ensuing struggle, a shot rang out, and Moore was struck in the back. His friend was hit in the face with the firearm. The attackers then stripped the companion of a wallet and a cellphone before making their escape, disappearing northbound on Olmstead Avenue. The chaos of the moment left two victims in its wake. Emergency services arrived at the scene on Seward Avenue and rushed both men to Jacobi Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, Tyreek Terrell Shawn Moore was pronounced dead. His companion was treated for a laceration to the head and was reported to be in stable condition. Moore, a resident of Bruckner Avenue, was about three miles from his home when the fatal encounter occurred.

The New York Police Department has since launched an investigation into the homicide. Authorities have publicly released images of the four suspects they are seeking in connection with the deadly robbery. As of now, the individuals responsible for Moore's death remain at large, and no arrests have been made in the case. Detectives are continuing to search for the three men and one woman who were last seen fleeing the area. The investigation remains active as they appeal to the public for any information that could lead to the apprehension of those involved.
