In the Bronx, a 39-year-old male named Pedro Almonte-Sanchez was fatally shot on September 26, 2017. The incident occurred in front of his 15-year-old son on Strong Street in the Kingsbridge Heights neighborhood. Almonte-Sanchez was with his son, preparing to get into their car, when a young man approached and opened fire. Almonte-Sanchez was struck in the head and died at the scene. Another man, who was 25 years old and standing nearby, was grazed by a bullet and taken to the hospital.
