On December 10, 2023, Raymond Garcia, a 45-year-old man from the Bronx, New York, was fatally shot 38 times inside the lobby of a five-story apartment building at 1096 West Farms Road in the Longwood neighborhood. The shooting occurred just after 8 p.m., with Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny noting that the victim sustained 38 entry and exit wounds from .40 caliber bullets, indicating a burst of gunfire similar to that of a machine gun.
