On the evening of July 29th, police responded to a 911 call at the intersection of East 176th Street and Mohegan Avenue. There, they discovered 39-year-old Roman Martinez, a male resident of the Bronx, inside his camping trailer with multiple gunshot wounds to the head. Emergency medical services arrived at the scene but were unable to save him, and he was pronounced dead.
Initial reports from law enforcement indicated that Martinez had been asleep inside his camper when the fatal shooting occurred. His cousin, Javier Bruno, expressed his devastation, describing Martinez as a 'good guy' who didn't have problems with anyone and did not deserve such a violent end. The family's grief was palpable as they gathered near the scene of the crime, trying to comprehend the senseless act that had taken their loved one.

The New York Police Department announced the arrest of 20-year-old Jailyn Wagner in connection with the murder of Roman Martinez.
