In the early morning hours of June 11, 2021, a young life was abruptly cut short in the Soundview neighborhood of the Bronx. Ameen Johnson Jr., an 18-year-old male, was fatally shot just before 1 a.m. in front of a bodega located at 1741 East 172nd Street. First responders were dispatched to the scene following a 911 call reporting a person shot. Upon their arrival, police officers discovered Johnson with gunshot wounds to his back and shoulder.
