On July 2, 2023, at approximately 6:46 p.m., Austin Police Department officers responded to a shooting at Dottie Jordan Neighborhood Park, located in the 2800 block of Loyola Lane in northeast Austin. Upon arrival, they discovered 35-year-old Peyton Edmonds lying on the ground with gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services transported Edmonds to Dell Seton Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Investigators determined that Edmonds had been involved in an altercation with 24-year-old Ricarlos Hall. The confrontation escalated, resulting in Hall allegedly shooting Edmonds. Following the incident, Hall fled the scene. A murder warrant was issued for Hall's arrest, and he was considered the primary suspect in the case.
The Austin Police Department actively sought information regarding Hall's whereabouts, urging anyone with details to contact them at 512-974-TIPS. Anonymous tips could also be submitted through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program, with the possibility of a reward up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
