On July 2, 2023, at approximately 6:46 p.m., Austin Police Department officers responded to a shooting at Dottie Jordan Neighborhood Park, located in the 2800 block of Loyola Lane in northeast Austin. Upon arrival, they discovered 35-year-old Peyton Edmonds lying on the ground with gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services transported Edmonds to Dell Seton Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
