David Loera, a 43-year-old male of Hispanic ethnicity, was tragically killed on January 22, 2016, in Austin, Texas. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. in the 300 block of East Powell Lane, northwest of the Hwy 183 and North Lamar Boulevard intersection. Loera was found lying on the ground with apparent trauma, and despite being transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge, he was later pronounced deceased. The Travis County Medical Examiner's Office ruled his death a homicide.
