Thomas Ray Karr, a 24-year-old male from Spur, Texas, was one of the 15 victims killed by Charles Whitman, the University of Texas sniper, on August 1, 1966. Karr was a student at the University of Texas at Austin and was born on July 29, 1942. He was on campus that day when Whitman began his shooting spree from the observation deck of the Main Building Tower.
