On August 7, 2023, 18-year-old Gregory Orork was fatally shot during a robbery in Southeast Austin, Texas. The incident occurred around 2:22 p.m. in the 5400 block of Freidrich Lane. After the shooting, a friend transported Orork to St. David's South Austin Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after receiving medical treatment.
The Austin Police Department (APD) swiftly initiated an investigation, identifying two suspects: 17-year-old Christian Alba and a juvenile male. Both were apprehended on August 9, 2023. Alba was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force at the intersection of East William Cannon Drive and South Pleasant Valley Road, while the juvenile suspect was detained at a separate location. Both individuals have been charged with capital murder and are currently in custody; Alba is held at the Travis County Jail, and the juvenile at the Gardner Betts Juvenile Center.
