On the night of April 19, 2024, 38-year-old Margarita "Maggie" Lopez was fatally shot in east Bakersfield, California. The incident occurred on Pearl Street around 10:44 p.m., where deputies found Lopez with gunshot wounds; she was transported to Kern Medical, where she was pronounced dead.
