On August 28, 2023, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Lawrence Lamar Edwards III, aged 54, was fatally shot while seated in his pickup truck outside a market on Lewis Street in Nashville, Tennessee. Surveillance footage revealed a suspect, identified as 24-year-old Taishaun Jackson, approaching the vehicle and discharging multiple rounds into the truck, striking Edwards. Edwards was promptly transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
