Avery Collier, a 40-year-old African American man from Nashville, Tennessee, tragically lost his life on January 3, 2021. Collier was shot and killed inside a Target store on Charlotte Pike in West Nashville. The incident occurred after a verbal altercation with 29-year-old David Van Dyke, who did not know Collier prior to the incident.
