In the late summer evening of August 14, 2020, the life of 37-year-old Abdullahi Hashi, a male resident of Nashville, Tennessee, was tragically cut short. The father of six, with another child on the way, was the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred in the 1000 block of Murfreesboro Pike.
That Friday, at approximately 8 p.m., officers from the Metro Nashville Police Department's Hermitage Precinct were in the vicinity of Millwood Drive and Murfreesboro Pike on an unrelated matter
when the sound of two gunshots pierced the evening air. Responding to the sound, they discovered Hashi lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. Emergency medical services were dispatched, and he was quickly transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators found Hashi's van parked behind a business located at 1040 Murfreesboro Pike. The circumstances surrounding the shooting suggest it may have occurred during an attempted robbery. As of the latest available information, Hermitage Precinct detectives are continuing their investigation into the homicide.
