In the summer of 2025, a dispute over rent at a Nashville apartment complex escalated into a fatal encounter, claiming the life of 26-year-old Dante Matayo Jenoure. A Bahamian man, Jenoure was found in the breezeway of the Preakness Apartments on Bell Road on the morning of July 5, 2025, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency services transported him to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
