On October 19, 2024, at approximately 12:15 p.m., a tragic incident occurred in the parking lot of the Shelby Farms Visitor's Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Ellie Claire Young, a 22-year-old medical student at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, was fatally shot while attending the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides against Breast Cancer" walk.
