On November 4, 2022, in Memphis, Tennessee, 1-year-old Karlie Wright tragically lost her life due to a shooting incident. The incident occurred during a dispute between the child's mother, Kavious Askew, and 19-year-old Juanita Bruce. Bruce allegedly pulled a gun from her purse and began firing, striking Askew in the leg and Karlie Wright in the chest while she was in the back seat of a Nissan Altima. Karlie was pronounced dead at the scene, and her mother was critically injured.
