On a September evening in 2016, the life of 18-year-old Marnesha Scales was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire in Southeast Shelby County, Tennessee. The young mother was sitting in a car with two other individuals on September 27th when two unidentified gunmen unleashed a fatal barrage of bullets. Scales was struck and died from her injuries, leaving behind a two-year-old daughter.
