On the evening of November 21, 2023, a mass shooting occurred in the Fairhill section of North Philadelphia, resulting in the death of 38-year-old Philadelphia resident, Leon Pierre. The incident took place around 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of North 6th Street and Allegheny Avenue. Police responded to reports of gunfire and discovered that at least 70 shots had been fired, leaving seven men, including Pierre, with gunshot wounds.
