On the evening of October 10, 2024, a burst of gunfire shattered the night in Philadelphia's Tioga neighborhood. When police responded to the scene on the 3700 block of North 15th Street at approximately 8:49 p.m., they found 37-year-old Thomas Debose, a Black / African American male, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics rushed him to Temple University Hospital, but his injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Investigators at the scene
discovered that at least nine shots had been fired at Debose. Adding a layer of complexity to the case, a large amount of cash was found near his body, leading police to surmise that robbery was not the primary motive for the deadly assault. Despite the presence of this key piece of evidence, the Philadelphia Police Department has not yet publicly identified any suspects in the slaying of the Darien Street resident.
