In the West Oak Lane neighborhood of Philadelphia, a 13-year-old boy's life was cut short on the evening of Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Amir Aker was with a friend near a basketball court behind some houses on the 7100 block of North 19th Street when gunfire erupted at approximately 8:45 p.m. An altercation involving a number of people is believed to have escalated to the shooting.
