On January 4, 2024, Desmond Edwards, a 37-year-old father of four from Philadelphia, was fatally shot while driving near the 5000 block of Ogontz Avenue in the city's Logan neighborhood. The incident occurred around 11:17 a.m. as Edwards was returning home after dropping off his children at school and running errands.
