On the evening of Monday, October 14, 2019, a 34-year-old Black male named Micah Smith was found lying in the street on the 8000 block of Ogontz Avenue in Philadelphia. It was 7:35 p.m. when Philadelphia Police officers responded to the scene and discovered that Smith was suffering from a gunshot wound.
The officers quickly transported Smith to Albert Einstein Medical Center for treatment. Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and died that evening.
At the time of his death, Micah Smith resided on the 8000 block of Williams Street in Philadelphia.
As of now, the case remains unsolved, and no arrests have been made in connection with his death. The Philadelphia Police Department continues to investigate the homicide and urges anyone with information to come forward.
