On July 12, 2024, at approximately 4:23 a.m., Philadelphia Police officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 5500 block of Sansom Street in West Philadelphia. Upon arrival, they discovered 26-year-old Monu Verma lying face-down in the street, having sustained fatal gunshot wounds. Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
Monu Verma, originally from Kennett Square in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, had relocated to the United States in 2022 from his native village in Karnal
