On October 9, 2024, at approximately 5:33 p.m., Philadelphia Police officers responded to reports of gunfire on the 5700 block of North Camac Street in the Fern Rock neighborhood. Upon arrival, they discovered 22-year-old Naseem James lying in the street, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his head and torso. Officers immediately transported him to Jefferson-Einstein Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
