On November 29, 2021, 14-year-old Samir Jefferson was fatally shot 18 times while waiting for a bus at the corner of Rising Sun and Wyoming avenues in the Feltonville neighborhood of Philadelphia. Jefferson, a 9th-grade student at Thomas Edison High School, was unarmed when he was chased and attacked by multiple gunmen. The tragic incident occurred around 3:30 p.m., and despite his attempts to flee, Jefferson was overwhelmed by the attackers.
