On the evening of August 7, 2024, at approximately 9:40 p.m., Philadelphia Police officers responded to reports of a person with a gun at the intersection of Park Avenue and Rush Street in the Glenwood neighborhood of North Philadelphia. Upon arrival, they discovered 19-year-old Kydair Strickland lying unresponsive in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound to his left shoulder. Medical personnel transported him to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:23 p.m.
