In the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 12, 2025, the quiet of an Aiken, South Carolina neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Inside a home in the 1200 block of Aldrich Street, 36-year-old Xavier Lenton Hall was found with a fatal gunshot wound. Officers from the Aiken Department of Public Safety responded to the scene at approximately 3:18 a.m.
and, despite lifesaving efforts, Hall was pronounced dead at 4:45 a.m.
Xavier Hall, a male resident of Aiken, was not a resident of the home where the shooting occurred. There were several other people inside the house at the time of the incident. Investigators have indicated that the homeowner was taken into custody for questioning but was later released. This individual is reportedly cooperating with the ongoing investigation, which is exploring the possibility of self-defense.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and no charges have been filed in connection with Hall's death. The Aiken Department of Public Safety, along with the Aiken County Sheriff's Office and the Second Judicial Circuit Solicitor's Office, are jointly handling the investigation. They are in the process of interviewing witnesses and examining the evidence to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal shooting. An autopsy has been scheduled as part of the inquiry.
Born on October 12, 1989, Xavier was remembered as a family man who was passionate about cooking, having pursued a culinary career after attending Florence-Darlington Technical College. Described as having a big, bright smile and charismatic energy, he was known for his generosity and his love for fishing and spending time with his loved ones. He is survived by his wife, mother, two brothers, and two sisters.
