In the quiet moments before heading to work, a violent encounter shattered the night and ended the life of a young man from Aiken, South Carolina. Twenty-two-year-old Devonte Green was fatally shot on a Tuesday evening while sitting in a vehicle with three other men. The group was getting ready to leave a residence on Dry Branch Road when the sound of multiple gunshots pierced the air.
