In the evening of October 5, 2020, a 17-year-old Black male named Lamont Brown was shot on the 5600 block of Langdon Street in Philadelphia. The incident occurred around 6:40 p.m. When Philadelphia Police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Brown with a gunshot wound to his head.
The responding officers transported him to Albert Einstein Medical Center for treatment. Despite their efforts, Lamont Brown succumbed to his injuries and died later that evening.
He had been a resident of the 6600 block of Erdrick Street in Philadelphia. Those who knew him described him as a humble and inspiring young man with a passion for making music.
The investigation into Lamont Brown's death is ongoing, and as of now, it remains an unsolved murder. Authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the shooting. The Philadelphia Police Department has urged anyone with information about the case to come forward to assist in the investigation. A reward of $20,000 has been offered by the City of Philadelphia for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Lamont Brown's death.
