Death by Force

On March 2, 2025, 55-year-old Assem H. Hijazi, a Lebanese-American man, was found fatally shot inside his 2019 BMW X6 in South Philadelphia. The vehicle was parked under the I-95 overpass on Ritner Street, a commercial area near Front Street. Responding officers discovered Hijazi slumped in the driver's seat with a single gunshot wound to the back of his head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
