On August 4, 2023, at approximately 1:38 p.m., Philadelphia Police responded to a shooting incident on the 1900 block of East Allegheny Avenue in the Kensington neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered 22-year-old Steven Rios lying in the street with gunshot wounds to his lower body. He was immediately transported to Temple University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
