On April 24, 2016, Alex Cherry, 21, was fatally shot on the 1400 block of Vernon Road in Philadelphia. Police responded to reports around 3:34 p.m. and found Cherry with multiple gunshot wounds to the head. Despite rapid medical intervention, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
