Samir Yelberton, a 23-year-old male of African American ethnicity, tragically lost his life on February 16, 2017, in Philadelphia, PA. He was one of two brothers who were fatally shot in the East Mount Airy neighborhood around 10:50 p.m. on the 400 block of East Upsal Street. The shooting occurred following a loud argument heard near the corner of East Upsal and Boyer. Investigators reported that the gunfire erupted after the argument, but they did not have a clear motive for the shooting.
