On June 21, 2023, at approximately 8:00 p.m., 31-year-old Hakeem Sehneah was fatally shot on the 6700 block of Woodland Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia, the same block where he resided. Philadelphia Police officers arrived at the scene to find Sehneah suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. They immediately transported him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:23 p.m.
The crime scene presented a perplexing detail: a pile of cash and a cellphone were found on the ground near where Sehneah was shot. This unusual discovery has led investigators to consider various motives, though no specific conclusions have been publicly disclosed.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with Sehneah's death, and the Philadelphia Police Department has not identified any suspects.
