Tahjae Brooks, a 21-year-old Black male from Philadelphia, was killed on Monday night, December 5, 2022, after gunfire broke out in West Philadelphia. Police responded at about 9:20 p.m. to the 4300 block of Parrish Street, where they found Brooks lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. He was still alive when first responders reached him, and he was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Early reports described the shooting as
part of a violent stretch in Philadelphia, with Brooks among several people killed in separate incidents around the same time. Police said he had been shot in the head and buttocks. In the immediate aftermath, no arrests were reported in his killing, and his case remained listed among Philadelphia's unsolved murders while investigators continued seeking information from the public.
The case later shifted from an unsolved street shooting into part of a much larger investigation into retaliatory violence among Philadelphia street groups. Prosecutors and police said Brooks was also known as “Jae100,” a rapper and founding member of Young Bag Chasers, or YBC. Investigators alleged that his death was tied into an ongoing feud involving YBC and rival groups, including Campers Campers Klapperz, or CCK, a conflict authorities said played out through shootings, social media taunts, and music.
In February 2026, the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office and law enforcement partners announced a major case involving more than a dozen defendants connected to multiple shootings between September 2022 and May 2024. Authorities said the wider investigation involved five homicides and 35 total shooting victims. The grand jury investigation named multiple people alleged to be tied to YBC, CCK, and the Parkside Killers, and prosecutors said evidence included ballistics, surveillance video, phone records, social media, and witness information.
Brooks' case was later marked solved by Philadelphia police. Police said three people were arrested on March 12, 2026, and that the case outcomes were pending trial. Public reporting tied three alleged CCK members to Brooks' killing: Anthony Lacey-Woodson, also identified as “Pistol P” and Anthony Woodson; Ronnie Vincent-Quan; and Herman “Cherm” Stigall. Prosecutors listed Anthony Woodson, Ronnie Vincent-Quan, and Herman Stigall among defendants charged with murder and related offenses in the larger shooting-group case.
At the time of the 2026 announcement, the charges in Brooks' homicide had not yet resulted in a reported trial outcome or conviction. Anthony Lacey-Woodson was already serving a lengthy prison sentence in connection with other killings, while Vincent-Quan and Stigall were named as co-defendants in the new homicide case. Brooks' death, once a December night shooting on Parrish Street with no immediate arrests, became one of the killings authorities said they solved through a broader investigation into years of retaliatory violence in Philadelphia.
