On a Saturday morning in Philadelphia, the life of 33-year-old Edward Harlem was tragically cut short. On September 16, 2023, at approximately 8:49 a.m., police responded to a call on the 1800 block of Cumberland Street. There, they found Harlem lying in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck.
Edward Harlem, a Black male who resided on North Cleveland Street, was rushed to Temple University Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. Homicide detectives have since been investigating the shooting to determine a motive.
As of now, the case remains an unsolved murder. Investigators have not yet found any weapons in connection with the shooting, and no arrests have been made. The Philadelphia Police Department is urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
