On March 27, 2023, Denzel Brown, a 24-year-old resident of North Philadelphia, was fatally shot in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood. Police responded to reports of gunfire just before 4 p.m. on the 3100 block of West York Street, where they discovered Brown suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Temple University Hospital and pronounced dead shortly after 4 p.m.
