An Abington Township resident, Dion Travis Abraham, a 39-year-old man, was fatally shot on the evening of December 29, 2025, in Philadelphia's Tioga section. The incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. when police were dispatched to the 1700 block of North 17th Street near Erie Avenue after receiving a report of a person with a gun. Upon arrival, officers found Abraham inside a parked silver 2008 Nissan Maxima, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and legs.
He was immediately
transported to Temple University Hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he was pronounced dead at 8:25 p.m. The shooting is being investigated as a homicide, and at this time, the motive for the attack remains unclear to authorities.
The Philadelphia Police Department's homicide detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the death of Dion Travis Abraham, and no suspects have been publicly identified. Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information to come forward and have offered a substantial reward of up to $20,000 for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
