In the Summerdale neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia, on the evening of June 26, 2024, the life of 18-year-old Isidro Zuniga was tragically cut short. Zuniga, a Hispanic male, was standing near the intersection of Foulkrod and Langdon Streets at approximately 5:41 p.m. when a dark-colored sedan approached. Two individuals reportedly exited the vehicle and opened fire, striking Zuniga multiple times.
Responding to reports of gunfire, Philadelphia Police found Zuniga lying in the
street with critical injuries. He was rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center but was pronounced dead shortly after 6 p.m. Investigators believe Zuniga was the intended target of the shooting. A 67-year-old man, who was also at the scene, was struck by a stray bullet in his left arm and was taken to the same hospital in stable condition.
The suspects fled the scene in the dark-colored sedan and remain unidentified. The Philadelphia Police Department's Homicide Detectives Division is actively investigating the murder, reviewing surveillance footage from the area in an effort to identify the perpetrators. No arrests have been made, and no weapons were recovered at the scene. Authorities have offered a $20,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case, urging the public to come forward with any details that may assist in the investigation.
