On a cold Thursday in Philadelphia, January 12, 2017, the life of 19-year-old David McFarlin was tragically cut short. A Black male, McFarlin was on the 2400 block of 76th Avenue in his own neighborhood when he was shot multiple times.
Philadelphia Police Officers were called to the scene where they discovered McFarlin lying in the street. He was quickly transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center in an effort to save his life.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, David McFarlin succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
As of now, the case remains an unsolved homicide. The Philadelphia Police Department continues to seek information from the public to bring closure to McFarlin's family and community. There have been no announcements regarding any suspects or arrests in connection with his murder. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with details, no matter how insignificant they may seem, to come forward.
