In the Morrisania section of the Bronx, a tragic story unfolded late one Tuesday night. On January 24, 2023, a 25-year-old male named Randell Timber was inside an apartment at the Morrisania Houses on Washington Avenue when his life was cut short. Police received a 911 call reporting a man had been shot and responded to the scene at approximately 10:58 p.m. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Timber unconscious and unresponsive, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his head.
Emergency medical services were unable to save him and pronounced him deceased at the scene.
The initial investigation into the shooting began with no immediate suspects or a clear motive for the violent act.
