On June 4, 2023, at approximately 12:20 a.m., 33-year-old Tjine Hemans was fatally shot in East New York, Brooklyn. Officers responding to a 911 call found Hemans with a gunshot wound to his chest near the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Wortman Avenue. Emergency Medical Services transported him to Brookdale University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
