In the East Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn, a young life was abruptly ended on a Sunday night. On March 24, 2024, 17-year-old Bryan Henriquez was fatally shot. The male teenager was discovered by police officers responding to a report of gunfire near East 37th Street and Church Avenue at approximately 7:45 p.m. He was found in an alleyway behind a building at 256 E.
37th St., having sustained gunshot wounds to his head, neck, and torso.
Emergency medical services rushed Henriquez to Kings County Hospital, but his injuries proved too severe, and he was pronounced dead. The motive for the shooting remains unclear to investigators. The gunman fled the scene and was still at large following the incident.
