On a summer evening in Brooklyn, New York, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace and ended the life of 25-year-old Neyon Hamilton. The fatal shooting occurred on July 9, 2018, on a street in the Flatbush neighborhood. When police responded to a 911 call shortly before 10:00 p.m., they discovered Hamilton lying unconscious and unresponsive in front of a building on East 55th Street, near Church Avenue.
He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his back, torso, and other parts of his body.
Emergency medical responders rushed Neyon Hamilton, a resident of Sheepshead Bay, to Kings County Hospital in an attempt to save his life. Despite their efforts, the severity of his injuries proved to be too great, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
