Darius Coles, a 20-year-old Black male, was shot in the chest on the afternoon of September 4, 2025, near Euclid Avenue and Sutter Avenue in Brooklyn’s Cypress Hills/East New York area. Officers responding around 2:40 p.m. found him and his twin brother wounded; both were rushed to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where Darius was pronounced dead and his brother was listed in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the leg and a graze to the head.
