In the early morning hours of an autumn Saturday in Brooklyn, New York, the lively sounds of a clandestine gathering were tragically silenced by gunfire. On October 12, 2019, inside an illegal gambling club known as the 'Triple A Aces Private & Social Event Space' in the Crown Heights neighborhood, a violent altercation left four men dead and several others wounded.
Among the deceased was Dominick Wimbush, a 47-year-old man from Brooklyn.
The establishment, situated on the first floor of a townhouse on Utica Avenue, was filled with more than a dozen people engaged in dice and card games when the shooting erupted just before 7 a.m. The chaos that ensued sent patrons scrambling for safety, leaving a scene of devastation for the first responders who arrived shortly after. Dominick Wimbush, along with three other men—Terence Bishop, 36; Chester Goode, 37; and John Thomas, 32—were pronounced dead at the scene from gunshot wounds.
