In the early morning hours of August 30, 2020, a scene of violence shattered the atmosphere of a block party in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn. Twenty-four-year-old Elijah Muhammad Mims was fatally shot while sitting in his dark-colored sedan. The attack occurred just before 4 a.m. in front of 984 Madison Street, where approximately 200 people had gathered for a celebration.
