On what tragically turned out to be his 45th birthday, Ahmad Perkins, a male resident of Red Hook, Brooklyn, was fatally shot in an ambush. The incident occurred in the morning on January 31, 2022, as he was ascending the steps of a multifamily home on Empire Boulevard in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn. Perkins was shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. His BMW SUV was found double-parked and idling nearby, suggesting he may have been expected.
