In the early hours of an April morning in the Bronx, the life of a 26-year-old man was tragically cut short. On April 15, 2024, at approximately 3:18 a.m., police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at an apartment building located at 1102 Longfellow Avenue in the Longwood neighborhood. Upon their arrival, officers from the 41st Precinct discovered Jaquill Monroe in a hallway, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso.
Emergency medical services were quickly on the
scene and transported Monroe to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was pronounced dead. The New York Police Department identified the victim as Jaquill Monroe of Beck Street.
As of now, the investigation into Monroe's death is ongoing. Authorities have not released any information regarding a possible motive for the shooting or any potential suspects. No arrests have been made in connection with the homicide. The police are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers, assuring that all tips will be kept confidential.
